So, Maybe I Was Wrong About The Damned Things

Today, Metal Insider posted a track from The Damned Things forthcoming album Ironiclast, which drops December 14. And the song — “We’ve Got A Situation Here” — actually caught me off guard. So now that I’ve heard something from the band, that story I posted late last night seems somewhat trite. And I guess that’s fine.

Now I can say that — after hearing the band — it’s not so bad. It’s like CKY, but with actual balls. Its straight-up rock and roll and its catchy. Like the herpes. And I caught myself doing the toe-tap. So maybe I was wrong. Wow. There’s a first for everything, I guess. Maybe I will get psyched for this record. Maybe I was quick to judge. Man, crow tastes like shit.

I mean, that one song’s not too shabby. You should check it out. But then again, Scott Ian of Anthrax is in the band, so I guess I shouldn’t have expected it to be complete shit. And Keith Buckley’s vocals are gritty, and raw.

As Metal Insider so justly points out, “we’re just happy to hear Anthrax’s Scott Ian and Rob Caggiano play some music that came out after 2000.”
